Who Can Participate?
The Southwest Black Art Show is open to All African American Artists residing in the United States.

Submission Guidelines:
- Please ensure no items are hung or placed over the displayed art by the Museum.
- Please ensure that all artwork submitted is appropriate for all ages at the Museum. The Museum offers a family friendly environment≥
- Artists must only display and sell original art, that is created by the artist.
- The SWBAS is staffed and run by volunteers. In all matters, the decision of the SWBAS Manager is final.
- Original Art Only – Only original or originally printed works will be admitted. Photocopies, color or computer generated copies are not acceptable for entry. No more than 25% of the works may be prints.
- Framing – All two dimensional entries, with the exception of oils and acrylics, must be framed with either glass or plexiglass-glass. Unframed canvas are accepted, as long as they are gallery wrapped (no staples visible). Frames are canvases must be wired and ready to hang (i.e., with two screws and steel wire, saw tooth hangers, “clip” frames or unstable frames will not be accepted).
- The SWBAS recommends Pro Panels and suggest Black and Gray color options.
Display Art Guidelines:
- No items are to be hung over any of the Museum’s displayed items.
- Professional Setup.
- All art must be matted or mounted in a way that will avoid damage during hanging.
